1. Homecare

One-To-One Care

At Ramah Ker Services, we specialise in one-to-one care and support with carers that suit your specific needs and requirements.

One of the most common complaints about the domiciliary care industry is that service users often have many different carers, at irregular times, with poor communication around this issue. We operate a one-to-one care and support system where a small number of regular carers, often one main carer and one ‘backup’ carer, are approved in an introductory meeting facilitated by the company management with the arrangement monitored carefully thereafter. This allows for the service user to be assured that the service will be effective according to their specific needs, as it offers far greater scope for flexibility and outcome-monitoring than the standard model. Staff presented for introductions will have been selected due to their suitability, experience and training relative to the proposed service user.

Personal Care

We provide personal care for any daily tasks for which you may require support. This can include:

  • Washing and bathing
  • Dressing
  • Toilet assistance
  • Applying creams/topical medications
  • Prompting, administering or assisting with medication
  • Feeding assistance

Our team is skilled, well-trained and, most importantly, caring. If you’d like to find out more about how our team work to make lives better, with respect and dignity, give us a call on 01202 283697

Domestic Support

Sometimes a little help can make all the difference – and it’s often the little things that count. It may be that you don’t require or want personal care, but could still benefit from some domestic support.

Our staff provide tailored domestic support to give you time to do the things you’d like to. Our staff are flexible and put service users at the heart of everything they do.

These tasks can include:

– General cleaning and maintenance

– Administrative assistance

– Meal preparation

Personal Care
Our caring assistants provide gentle, dignified support with day-to-day personal care according to each client’s needs and preferences. Services include assistance with bathing, hygiene, dressing and grooming, mobility and transfers, toileting/incontinence care, feeding tubes, catheters and ostomy bags. We aim to foster independence while maintaining privacy and comfort. Caregivers are trained in proper body mechanics to ensure safe transfer techniques.
Companionship
In addition to assisting with daily tasks, our compassionate caregivers also provide valued social engagement and companionship. They are happy to engage in conversation, participate in hobbies, look at photo albums or family videos if desired, play cognitive games, accompany clients to religious services and more based on individual interests and abilities. Caregivers can provide medication reminders, prepare and serve meals, and provide transportation to appointments and community outings.
Meals & Nutrition
Our assisted living staff handles all meal planning, preparation, serving and cleanup. Careful attention is paid to each resident’s dietary needs and restrictions whether that involves diabetic, low-sodium, gluten-free, vegetarian or other special diets. We assist clients with eating as needed and ensure proper nutrition is met. Between meal snacks and fluids are provided. Homemade, nutritious meals tailored to meet therapeutic needs as well as taste preferences.
Light Housekeeping
Caregivers handle home cleaning and maintenance tasks such as vacuuming, mopping floors, cleaning bathrooms/kitchens, changing bed linens, laundry, taking out trash/recycling, seasonal yard maintenance, organizing clutter if needed, and anything else required to maintain clean, hazard-free, comfortable living environment. We utilise eco-friendly cleaning products.
Shopping & Errands
Let us handle the grocery shopping! Caregivers keep kitchens stocked with staples and favorite items personalised to the client’s taste and diet. We also pick up prescriptions, assist with bill payments, accompany clients to medical appointments, take them shopping or run other errands to save family members time and travel. These services aim to reduce caregiver stress and save our clients energy for what matters most.
Respite Care
Caring for an elderly, disabled or medically-complex loved one can be physically and emotionally taxing for family members. Our compassionate teams provide hourly or daily temporary care to give those primary caregivers a much needed break. Short-term respite care enables family members time to rest, recharge and take a vacation knowing their loved one is in good hands. This “breather” can go a long way in helping avoid fatigue and burnout.
